Symptom
You want to settle an order or WBS element to a G/L account that at the same time is also a cost element in CO. The system generates error message KI235 “Account & requires an assignment to a CO object”.
In this case an additional CO account assignment is (for example, cost center) is necessary for the receiver postings. Up to now it was not possible to assign this additional CO account assignment in the settlement rule of the sender, or the CO account assignment entered in the settlement rule is not taken into account in the settlement.

Solution
Check whether the solutions proposed in Note 310366 are sufficient.
If you entered the additional CO account assignment in the settlement rule and want this CO account assignment to be transferred in the settlement to a G/L account, you can implement the attached corrections.
Caution:
After you implement the corrections, all additional CO account assignments (cost center, order, WBS element …) are transferred from the settlement rule to the G/L account posting with settlement to a G/L account. Since this logic deviates from the SAP standard, these corrections are not delivered via Support Package for the SAP standard system, and you also have to maintain the corrections when you import Support Packages or Release upgrades.
The correction was updated on June 09, 04 to have the settlement with several settlement rules to same G/L account and different CO account assignments correct. If necessary, implement the current version of the correction.
