CO-OM tools: Unicode conversion SE16N

[] [] []

Symptom
You want to perform a Unicode conversion in your system. During the analysis, you notice that the table SE16N_CD_DATA, which contains a lot of data, cannot be converted.
Other terms
Transactions: SE16N
SE16N_CD_KEY, change document, change documents
Reason and Prerequisites
The system writes a separate change document for each change made to the table SE16N. This document is saved in the tables SE16N_CD_KEY and SE16N_CD_DATA.
On the one hand, the data in these tables is used to control the changes made.
On the other hand, this data could also be used to restore changes that were made incorrectly.
Solution
Delete the contents of the tables in SE16N by choosing “Extras –> Delete change documents”. You require the following authorization for this:
AUTHORITY-CHECK OBJECT ‘S_ADMI_FCD’
ID ‘S_ADMI_FCD’
FIELD ‘RSET’.
Depending on the amount of data, you may have to perform the deletion in smaller time intervals to avoid triggering a dump due to large datasets.
