Symptom

You use transaction CJZ2 to execute the project interest calculation for an investment project. In this case, the system determines the interest incorrectly.
The detail list shows that the system included value dates in the past when calculating the interest. This is incorrect. However, in the project interest calculation based on totals records, the value dates in the past contribute only to the balance carried forward.

This problem is caused by a program error. You use investment projects (projects with an assigned investment profile) and you have not maintained a depreciation area in the detail settings for the relevant interest calculation profile.
